creativity does not exist.

its a myth.

Kind of like those ‘Emo/Goth” kids that just want to express themselves and thier individuality, so they all dress and act exactly the same, with the same music tastes, the same hobbies.

In movies, I swear, they’re all re-makes nowadays….if we’re lucky.

if we’re UN-lucky they attempt to bring a new spin on old favorites. which is what they’re doing lately in the movie industry.

its
driving
me
crazy.

do you know what I had to listen to at work all day? a debate on who should play Sherah in the live action film.

SHERAH!!!!!!!!!!

that’s it folks. it’s all downhill from here.

*mumbles* ‘f*cking sherah’ *mumbled unintelligbly

okay. well. yeah.

in other news.

there is this webblog– http://www.youarenotaphotographer.com
essentially, it is these two women photographers who find poor quality ‘professional photographers’ and publicly humiliate them.
for fun.

ok, well, here’s the deal. I am NOT a professional photographer. but if you will recall the Kristy Sherrells incident I was made to feel like one of what they call the ‘fauxtographers’

Look,if you want me to take photos of you, your family, your kids, your pet…etc. I would love to do that. I enjoy photography. I LIKE learning more mastery of the camera, because I’ve not got the money to go to school for it! I have never, and will not in the near future, claim to be a ‘professional’ photographer. I WILL tell you I have my own photography business, but literally, thats where it stops.

YES. I charge for my work. I deserve it. if you want me to do your photos you obviously think so too, unless you’re accusing yourself of poor taste. In MY opinion, I COULD charge more for my work, but I don’t. that would defeat the purpose of trying to create affordable awesome pics for everyone! so, because I love you guys, I don’t get greedy.

And in case you’ve had the thought that $55 was too much…well let me break this down for you–

*assume we drive to a location 10miles from my house, my car gets 25mpg, so there and back thats a gallon of gas.= approx. $4
*I will also need a disk to distribute your pictures on and a paper disk case=approx. $1
*then I will SHOOT your pics=approx 1 hour
*do all the post processing=approx 2 hours (working nonstop)
*and finally EDIT all your pictures= approx. 3 hours

all this adds up to equal around $8/hour for me. NOT a whole lot of money.

less than minimum wage.
and that’s not counting if I need to buy a prop for your shoot. that comes out of MY profit.

I was just upset because APPARENTLY “real” photographers are pissed that we ‘fauxtographers’ are stealing their money from them. STEALING.

yeah well. f*that. you know what I think? I think if you want more clientelle, you should understand that the economy is crap and people cannot afford $1000 for pictures. yes theyre priceless memories, but that price is too stinkin’ high for people to meet right now, not that it’s unreasonable if you do quality work, but that its just not feasible right now.

so get off your high horse and get your hasselblad out of your ass.

xoxo
